I've been against the death penalty for a while.  Since I consider government incompetent, and that includes the justice system, the death penalty seemed a little to...final...to be meted out by the government.  As long as the criminals rot in jail for the rest of their lives, I'm OK with it.  But lately, that incompetent government has done the unthinkable.  They're releasing (or thinking about releasing) these murderers.  So saying someone will be in prison for the rest of their lives doesn't take into account some politicians or do-gooders at some later date.  So I'm rethinking my position about the death penalty.
